FC Barcelona have announced the signing of Jeison Murillo on loan until the end of the season. The club have reached an agreement with Valencia for him to join until June 2019, with an option to make the deal permanent for 25 million euros.
Murillo passed a medical on Thursday before the deal was completed. The Colombian will be presented to the media on Dec. 27.
Valencia were receptive to a deal from the first moment, given that the defender's not featured in coach Marcelino Garcia Toral's plans this season. He's made just three appearances.
Murillo, 26, has spent a large part of his career in Spanish football. He has previously played for Cadiz, Las Palmas and Granada, before moving to Inter Milan and then Valencia.
He is an international with Colombia and his experience will help Barça out as they deal with the absences of Thomas Vermaelen and Samuel Umtiti.
