Ajax and Sevilla FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Quincy Promes. The 38-time international has signed a contract taking effect on July 1, 2019, for five seasons, until June 30, 2024. Ajax has paid a transfer sum of maximum € 15,7 million to Sevilla. This sum could potentially reach €17,2 million, depending on variables.
Promes (Amsterdam, January 4, 1992) played in Ajax’s youth academy and went to the HFC Haarlem youth teams in 2008. In 2012, the forward made his debut in professional football as a player with FC Twente. In 2012-2013 he played for Go Ahead Eagles, a club with whom he was promoted to the Eredivisie. A nice detail: Erik ten Hag was his coach in that year.
After one more year at FC Twente and 4 at Sparkak Moscow in Russia, he made the move to Sevilla last year. Promes had been under contract with the Spanish team until mid 2023.
Promes’ pre-season starts July 8
Part of Ajax’s A selection will attend training camp in De Lutte this week. Promes will not attend, just like several internationals, and will start the pre-season on Monday, July 8th.
