Atalanta

Coach: Gian Piero Gasperini came to the Bergamo based club in 2016 and Atalanta have improved as a result year on year. Things did not start well for the Italians as they lost their first three games. However, a historic comeback in the second half of the group stage saw them into the last 16. In Serie A they currently occupy sixth place on 28 points, some 10 behind leaders Inter.

Key players: Luis Muriel, Duván Zapata, Josip Ilicic – Colombian duo Muriel and Zapata have scored 17 goals between them so far this season, 10 for the former Sevilla striker and 7 for the man on loan from Sampdoria. Slovenian midfielder Ilicic brings an understated quality and experience to an otherwise youthful Atalanta squad.
