Liverpool have one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals as they recorded a 2-0 win over RB Leipzig on Tuesday evening.
Although the game had to be played in Budapest's Puskas Arena, it was the German side's home game, giving the Premier League champions two vital away goals as well as a two-goal cushion to take into the second leg.
After a relatively even first half the game, and possibly the tie, was settled within five minutes in the second half as the Reds struck twice in quick succession.
Mohamed Salah grabbed the first after intercepting a pass to Angelino. He bore down on goal and drilled home his finish.
That lead was doubled before the hour mark through Sadio Mane, but it was another mistake that gifted them the chance. Curtis Jones played the ball towards the Senegalese and Nordi Mukiele failed to deal with it, allowing Mane in to score.
The second leg will be played on March 10.
