On Sunday 20 May, FC Barcelona’s 2017/18 league season comes to an end with a game against Real Sociedad at Camp Nou (8.45pm CEST). The fans will have the chances to celebrate the team’s eighth league and cup double and to say goodbye to club legend Andrés Iniesta who departs at the end of the season after 22 years at FC Barcelona.
Before the game members and fans will have various activities to entertain at Camp Nou dedicated to the club captain and they will also have the opportunity to form part of a mosaic for the Barça midfielder. Once the game is over, Iniesta will say goodbye to the fans as part of the celebrations to commemorate the double and to bring the season to a close.
Andrés Iniesta Luján, known by his elegant but humble character off the pitch, has won 36 trophies (tied with Ryan Giggs, Iniesta is third player with more tittles in game's history, just behind Dani Alves with 38 and Maxwell with 37) within his 669 appearances for FC Barcelona (second in club's history behind the 767 matches disputed by Xavi Hernández).
His goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on May 6th., 2009, for the UEFA Champions League 2nd. leg Semi-finals clash, will remain in the memory of FC Barcelona, where Iniesta has become the most awarded player of club's history with 31 trophies.
