Real Madrid are about to play their first competitive match since Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Juventus and Gareth Bale will be in the driving seat for it.
For the first time since his 2013 move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, the Welshman will be playing outside of Ronaldo's shadow and will hope to lead Los Blancos to the UEFA Super Cup title.
Julen Lopetegui has built his attack around Bale during pre-season, with the former Tottenham man scoring three times and providing one assist in four matches.
These numbers are even more impressive considering he played just 45 minutes in the first two matches, then 57 against Roma and then 75 against AC Milan last Saturday.
Already Bale has won 13 medals with Real Madrid and he was the star man on the pitch in Ukraine as the Spanish side claimed the most recent one against Liverpool.
He'll hope to be similarly impactful as season kicks off next Sunday with the derby against Getafe at the Bernabéu.
