The countdown is on for the start of LaLiga Santander as the schedule for the first two rounds of fixtures was revealed.
In LaLiga Santander, they include a first game back as Sevilla welcome Real Betis, while lunchtime weekend kick-offs have also been included given cooler temperatures than expected.
"There are games at 13:00 [CEST], we've seen that at the weekend the temperatures will drop compared to the last few days, if the forecast changes they'll be played at 17:00," LaLiga president Javier Tebas confirmed to El Partidazo de Movistar.
"There will be the odd Monday without LaLiga football, but these first two matchdays provide a template until July 19, when we will know the champion."
Tebas also revealed a new initiative to provide atmosphere to empty stadiums.
"Applause to Infinity is LaLiga's way of paying tribute to those who have worked to help us to overcome this pandemic," he explained.
"It will be played after 20 minutes in the game; every fan can record their own applause."
Tebas also looked forward to the start of the 2020/21 season, expected to get underway in September.
"Our plan is to start on September 12," he noted.
"We know that there are teams involved in European competitions, but it's important that the competition starts then, considering that at the end there's a European Championship."
