Real Madrid aren't alone in their race against the clock to sign Paul Pogba as Juventus are also interested in the Frenchman and want to make a move immediately.
While it's true that both clubs have until September 2 to resolve any incomings, the Premier League's window shutting on August 8 increases the urgency of their pursuit of the Manchester United midfielder.
United have completed the signing of Harry Maguire for 88 million euros this week and they're working on getting a deal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic over the line.
Both Juventus and Madrid are trying to find solutions and despite wanting the Frenchman, neither are keen on paying the 150 million euros that the Red Devilsare demanding. As a result, the two European giants want to include players in their deals.
According to The Times, Los Blancos have already offered 30 million euros and James Rodriguez, which was turned down.
However, there are other players being considered as dispensable, with Gareth Bale obviously topping that list after his move to China fell through.
Juventus, meanwhile, would be happy to dispose of Blaise Matuidi, Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala, though the Argentine has already been clear in his stance that he doesn't want to move to Old Trafford.
Pogba, meanwhile, is anxiously waiting. He claimed back discomfort to get out of a friendly with AC Milan, which prompted more rumours around his future. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was quick to hush those and ensured fans that he wouldn't be leaving.
Madrid will try with another approach, but it appears clear that they won't be paying the amount demanded by United.
