The second stop on Real Madrid's US tour is FedExField in Landover, Maryland just a year after their last visit. This time they face Arsenal (1:00am CEST, 7.00pm local time). Zidane's side are looking for a win in what will be a tough test as they look to get battle ready for the start of the LaLiga season.
For the seventh consecutive summer, the Whites are going head-to-head with an English club in pre-season. Arsenal are no normal rival. In fact, the last official game between the sides was all the way back in 2006, when both Ramos and Zidane were out on the pitch. “We are facing a team that has played more games than us and we must do the best possible”, claimed Zidane in the press conference.
This is Real Madrid's second game of the summer, but for Arsenal it will be match number five. Unai Emery's side were runners up in the Europa League, and have so far gone unbeaten in pre-season. They beat Bayern Munich (2-1) and Fiorentina (3-0) in their last two International Champions Cup fixtures.
The return to FedExField
FedExField is a stadium that Real Madrid know all too well. Last year's tournament saw the Whites beat Juventus 3-1 here, whilst back in 2009, they locked horns with DC United. With the unrelenting support of the fans who continue to enjoy the madridista tour, Zidane's side will be on the hunt for their first win in the International Champions Cup.
