There is less than a week to go before the return of the Champions League with FC Barcelona’s first leg of their last 16 tie against Chelsea coming up next Tuesday at Stamford Bridge. The team’s first challenge is Saturday’s league game against Eibar but looking beyond that, the excitement of the arrival of European competition once again cannot be denied.
Gerard Piqué took the opportunity to give his view on the upcoming two legged tie against the current Premier League champions:
“Expectation in the Champions League is high. I know that there is a positive atmosphere at the Club at the moment but we have to be careful.”
The defender recognised the need to “learn from experiences in other seasons,” whilst adding:
“we know we are in a good position in the league and the Copa del Rey and we go to London in the Champions looking to win, get through and progress in the competition.”
