Santiago Solari has already played Alvaro Odriozola for all 360 minutes of Real Madrid's Copa del Rey run so far and the backup right-back is set to start again against Girona on Thursday night.
Dani Carvajal has been given rest in this competition and should once again watch on as the summer import from Real Sociedad occupies the right side of defence.
Odriozola's performances so far in the Copa del Rey have been impressive, as he has scored once and has four assits.
The 23-year-old is currently happy with his role at Real Madrid, as he understands that this is his first season at a giant club and that he has a top-class player already in his position.
He is content to be able to gain experience and minutes in this competition, as well as in the occasional league and European games.
