Mariano Díaz enjoyed his first happy night at the Santiago Bernabeu in a while. The striker came back from injury, which has kept him out since November, and scored in a 3-0 win over Alaves on Sunday.
"I came on a bit nervous and I missed an important chance, but I made up for it with the goal," said Mariano. "I'm very happy to return after so much time."
Madrid won their fifth game in a row in La Liga and the Copa and now face Barcelona in the cup semi first leg on Wednesday.
"The team is very united and very happ y for this run of victory, we will go for it against Barca to win the tie."
Asked if he sent Santiago Solari a message with his goal, he said "I'm ready for the coach for whatever he needs."
