Barcelona have agreed a contract renewal with Jordi Alba, as revealed by SPORT a few days ago. The left-back's new deal will keep him at the club until 2024, with his previous deal due to expire in 2020.
Alba's release clause rises from 150 million euros to 500 million as a result of the renewal. The defender will be 35 when his new terms run out.
Talks moved quickly over the last few days and the Catalan club confirmed on Thursday that a deal had been reached for an extension.
It could well be Alba's last deal with Barca. The Spain internathional has been fundamental since joining from Valencia in 2012 having been released from La Masia as a teenager.
