Iker Casillas has announced his retirement from football.
After more than a year out of action since suffering a heart attack, one of the most successful goalkeepers in Real Madrid and Spanish national team history will hang up his gloves.
The Porto goalkeeper, who in recent days was seen celebrating the Primeira Liga with his teammates, has decided to announce his retirement through social media with a brief statement.
"The important thing is the path you take and the people who accompany you, not the destination to which it takes you. Because, combined with work and effort, it comes by itself and I think I can say, without hesitation, that it has been a dream path and destination," he wrote on Twitter.
