Antoine Griezmann has been named Player of the Month for December in LaLiga Santander. The Atlético Madrid forward enjoyed a productive end to 2018, scoring four goals and setting up another for one of his team mates in the four games he starred in last month.

Griezmann played a key role in helping Atleti take 10 points from a possible 12 in LaLiga in December, only failing to find the net in the team's 1-1 draw at Girona on 2 December. After that game, he was on target in the 3-0 home win against Alavés then grabbed a brace and an assist in the 2-3 win away at Valladolid. He brought the year to a close by hitting the winner against Espanyol, beating Diego López from the penalty spot.
Griezmann has started 2019 in the same spell-binding form he ended 2018, he cancelled out Ben Yedder's opener in the opening game of the New Year against Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán last weekend. That equaliser gained a point for Atletion a weekend when their city rivals Real Madrid lost. The No.7 will receive the award just before kick-off ahead of Sunday's midday meeting with Levante at the Wanda Metropolitano.
