FC Barcelona reach 6,000 LaLiga goal mark

FC Barcelona began the season with another record added to their list of achievements. In the 3-0 win against Alavés a strike by none other than Leo Messi  took the club to a total of 6,000 goals in LaLiga.

From Parera to Messi

Whilst Messi had the honour of getting goal number 6,000 this Saturday, the first was scored some 89 years ago. On February 12 1929, Parera made Barça history in an away game against Racing Santander.

Other players to score milestone goals include Marcos Aurellio (1,000), Zaballa (2,000), Quini (3,000), Amor (4,000) and Messi (5,000).

Leo Messi, omnipresent

Messi has continually shown his importance on the field of play. He was a part of  463 of the 1,000 goals that took the club from 5,000 to 6,000. Some 338 were scored by the Argentine himself, and he also provided 125 assists.
