Thursday 5 September

Romania 1-2 Spain

Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets played all ninety minutes as Spain won 2-1 in Romania. Former Barça player and future opponent in the Champions League Paco Alcácer, scored the second goal of the night, off an assist from Alba, after Sergio Ramos had opened the scoring from the penalty spot. The home side pulled one goal back through Florin Andone.

With five wins out of five, Spain are now five points clear of second placed Sweden and well on course for a berth in the finals. Next up is a home fixture against the Faroe Islands on September 8 (Gijon, 8.45pm CET).
