Almeria put up a fight against Sevilla in their Copa del Rey quarter-final on Tuesday evening, but the Segunda side fell just short as the Andalusians edged into the final four with a 1-0 win.
All eyes were on Sevilla's Argentine debutant Papu Gomez, but it was his compatriot Lucas Ocampos who got the game's only goal in the second half.
Both Gomez and Ocampos started in a front three, each flanking Luuk de Jong. Despite creating a couple of chances, the new signing didn't have the impact he would have hoped for and was replaced by Suso with an hour on the clock.
The Spaniard needed just seven minutes to make his mark, as he assisted Ocampos, who opened the scoring.
Ocampos himself was later withdrawn, but ended the night as the match winner as no other goals were managed.
