Copa del Rey quarter-finals report: Last-gasp winner sends Levante past Villarreal (0-0; 1-0 A.E.T.)

Levante booked their place in the Copa del Rey semi-finals with a dramatic 1-0 extra time win over Villarreal on Wednesday.

The two sides had played out 120 goalless minutes before Roger Marti scored in stoppage time of extra time to send the hosts through.

Villarreal started off better, but Pau Torres failed to beat Dani Cardenas who produced a great save to deny the Spanish centre-back five minutes in.

Levante responded on the half an hour mark, when Daniel Gomez sent his strike just wide of the left post, while Cardenas denied Alfonso Pedraza four minutes later.

Cardenas, who produced a man-of-the-match display, pulled off another brilliant save just after the break to deny Paco Alcacer.

Neither Dani Parejo was able to beat the Levante goalkeeper who saved the Villarreal midfielder's effort from inside the box in the stoppage time to send the game to extra time.

Just as the sides were set for penalties, Roger Marti popped up in stoppage time to bag a 121st minute winner for Levante.
