After the international break, FC Barcelona return to work with an intense period of games ahead. Ernesto Valverde’s men will play seven matches (five League, two Champions League) in just 23 days, meaning one practically every three days.
The start of this marathon will begin on Saturday, September 15 (16:15h. CEST), with the visit to Anoeta to face Real Sociedad. It’s a stadium that's been historically difficult to win at, but last season Barça managed to break their bad luck in San Sebastián. Just three days later, PSV Eindhoven arrive at Camp Nou for the Champions League opener (Tuesday 18, 18:55h. CEST), and the Catalan derby against Girona will close the week on Sunday 23, 20:45h. CEST.
FC Barcelona then travel to Butarque to play against Leganés (Wednesday 26, 20:00h. CEST), and host Athletic Club three days later for matchday seven in the League (Saturday 29, 16:15h. CEST).
Two more away games close this series of matches: Tottenham and Valencia. First, a visit on Wednesday, October 3, 21:00h. CEST to the new Wembley, a very special stadium where Barça won the 2011 Champions League. And then to end, a visit to Mestalla on Sunday 7, 20:45h. CEST.
