Benzema causes concern with adductor problem

Real Madrid suffered a painful evening in Valencia on Sunday night, losing 4-1 to Los Che in an awful team display, yet there was more worrying news after the game as it was discovered that Karim Benzema had picked up a muscular problem in the area of his adductor.

The Frenchman was substituted in the second half for Mariano Diaz, with it unclear exactly what had caused him to leave the field. Benzema felt an overload on his left leg, but despite no test having taken place it doesn't seem like a serious injury.

Fortunately for Real Madrid and Benzema, the injury comes ahead of the international break, which will allow Benzema two weeks to fully recover and, in the absence of any surprise, should be back in time for Los Blancos' next game. A gruelling schedule awaits Madrid on their return from the international break and will need their main goalscorer fully fit, with a visit to Villarreal coming up next, before a trip to Milan to face Inter in the Champions League.
